He also has a strong preference for normal ground conditions, winning 4 of his 15 races on a standard surface. That 27% win rate on good ground is genuinely impressive and suggests the horse is at his best when conditions do not get too wet or too firm underfoot.

His most regular partner is jockey Adam Caffrey, who has been aboard for 22 of those 49 races and picked up 2 of the 6 wins — roughly 1 win for every 11 rides together. That is below the horse's overall average, which is a slightly curious footnote, though the sheer volume of their partnership suggests the combination is far from being abandoned.

The current form is worth noting with some honesty. Apache Outlaw has not won in his last 6 races, with finishes reading 7-4-3-6-8-11 going back through recent outings, and his last victory came at Dundalk in December 2024 — about 16 months ago now. He raced just yesterday, so he is very much still active and his team clearly believe there is more to come. Given that Dundalk is where he has made his name, and that he has won there as recently as this winter past, it would be a brave person who writes him off entirely the next time he lines up on that particular track.
