Trained by Cian Hughes out of Newcastle, Co. Dublin, the yard has sent out two winners this season, so the operation is capable of getting horses into the winner's enclosure. Whether Any Chance can become a third remains to be seen. Having raced just yesterday, the horse is clearly fit and active, and the yard — sorry, the team — are giving it every opportunity to turn things around.
There is not a great deal to dress up here. No course form to point to, no big occasion to highlight, no winning streak lurking in the background. What Any Chance has is a trainer willing to keep running it and, somewhere in that one placing, a faint reminder that it can at least threaten. For now, that will have to do.
