Annarubyrose

The recent form makes for interesting reading. A second place two races ago suggests she is capable of running well when things fall right, and she raced just yesterday, so she is clearly a horse being kept busy at the moment. The sequence of 4-2-9-8-3-6 over her last six races is patchy — a placed finish sandwiched between some disappointing efforts — which is the kind of up-and-down pattern that can make a horse tricky to back but also means there is probably a win in her somewhere if the right day comes along.

She is trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue out of Clonalvy in County Meath, and it is worth noting that his yard has sent out 26 winners already this season — that is a productive operation, and horses from there are generally well placed to find opportunities. The fact that Annarubyrose has not yet delivered a win is not for lack of a capable team behind her. Sometimes a horse just needs one good day when everything clicks, and with a trainer in decent form around her, the ingredients are at least there.
