Annacroft

The most recent form shows Annacroft finishing 8th yesterday, 14th before that, then 13th, 5th, 12th, and 9th going back further. There are glimpses of better — that 5th place finish shows the horse can be competitive — but consistency has been elusive. Six races without a win or a place finish is a tough run, and it raises the obvious question: is Annacroft simply still learning the job, or is there a ceiling to what this horse can achieve? At five years old, it is past the stage where youth alone excuses blank form, but active runners in this position can still turn things around if the right race comes up. McConnell clearly believes there is more to come, and he is the one who sees the horse every day.
