Angel Of Promise

The recent form makes for difficult reading. Working back through the last six outings, the numbers run 6th, 14th, 9th, a blank, 16th, and most recently 5th — so a fifth place last time out is actually the best she has shown in a while. Whether that represents a small step forward or simply a weaker field is hard to say, but it is at least something for the yard to work with.

She is trained by Edward Lynam at his base in Dunshaughlin, County Meath, and the stable is in decent nick this season with five winners already on the board. Lynam is an experienced handler and the fact that Angel of Promise keeps appearing in races suggests the team believes there is something worth chasing. Horses can take time to find their level, and sometimes a trainer simply needs to find the right conditions on the right day. For now, Angel of Promise remains a horse in search of a breakthrough — and with a race just yesterday, clearly an active search.
