Her win came just this week at Gowran Park on 1st June 2026, and with the stable clearly in strong form — 29 winners already sent out this season — she arrives at this stage of her career with plenty of momentum behind her. The trainer is D K Weld, one of the most respected names in Irish racing, based at Curragh in Co Kildare. When a horse wins first time out and places the next, or places first and wins second, it tells you the talent was always there; the horse just needed the right moment to show it. Amenita has done exactly that.
It is early days, and two races is too small a sample to draw big conclusions from. But a 50 per cent win rate — one win from two races — combined with a place in the other means she has not yet had a bad day at the office. For a young horse still learning her trade, that kind of consistency is exactly what a yard like Weld's will be looking to build on.
