Ambiente Friendly's last win came at Huntingdon on 7 December 2025 in a hurdles race — his first success in nine months and a sign that the change of code is working. The horse was competing at the top level when tested on the flat (1 win from 10 top-class races), but has since been gelded and switched to jumping, where he appears to be finding his feet again. Owen has suggested that if progress continues over hurdles, there may be a future back on the flat. The trainer noted that the horse "is enjoying this now" and praised his jumping technique, describing him as fast over the obstacles and schooling well.

What makes Ambiente Friendly genuinely interesting is the gap between potential and delivery. A horse good enough for the Derby is rare; one that then finds a second life over jumps is rarer still. His recent form over jumps — a win and a fourth-place finish in his last two races — suggests Owen's gamble to switch codes has some merit. He raced just a day ago, so he remains very much active. Whether he can build on that Huntingdon victory and become a reliable jumper, or whether he'll make another attempt at proving himself on the flat, remains to be seen. Either way, he is a horse worth watching.
