The story so far has a pleasing shape to it. Amazing Journey broke its duck at Chepstow in June 2025, then followed up with a win at York in July — one of Britain's most prestigious tracks, where the standard is noticeably higher than at most other venues. Winning there as a 3-year-old is worth noting; plenty of horses never manage it at any age. That said, recent form has dipped a little — the last four runs have produced finishes of 12th, 7th, 5th, and 3rd, suggesting the horse has found things tougher since that York success, though a third-place last time out hints at a return to form.
Two things stand out when you look at where Amazing Journey has run well. On fast, dry ground, the record reads 2 wins from 4 races — exactly half of all its starts in those conditions have ended in victory. And over the shorter sprint distances of 5 to 6½ furlongs, it's the same story: 2 from 4. These aren't coincidences. This is a horse that wants quick ground and a sharp, straight track to fire — give it both and it becomes a genuine threat.
Behind the horse is the trainer Jamie Osborne, based at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire. His yard has sent out 47 winners already this season, which puts them firmly among the busier and more productive operations in British racing. A trainer running at that volume with that kind of output tends to know exactly when and where to place a horse to give it its best chance, and Amazing Journey looks like one that's been placed thoughtfully so far.
With a win at York already on the CV and the right conditions seemingly within reach as summer continues, Amazing Journey looks like a horse whose story is still very much being written.
