Alreem is a two-year-old with work still to do. The horse has raced twice without hitting the mark, finishing eighth most recently and ninth before that. Both runs came within the last week or so, suggesting the trainer is giving the horse a chance to find its feet quickly rather than spacing races out over months.
Donnacha Aidan O'Brien's yard at Ballyroe has been in good form this season with 31 winners already, so there is experience and firepower behind the horse. For now, Alreem remains a work in progress — early days yet for any young horse, but the next few weeks will tell whether it can break through.
