Trained by George Baker at Epsom Downs in Surrey, the horse remains actively racing — it ran just a day ago — and the yard itself has been in decent form this season with fourteen winners sent out overall, so the problem appears specific to this individual rather than the training setup.

At seven years old, Alcaraz has had plenty of opportunity to break through, yet the breakthrough hasn't come. The combination of a winless record across eight races and zero victories in the Class 4 races that define its typical level suggests this is simply not a horse that finds the winner's enclosure often, if at all.
