That single win came at Thirsk on 15 August 2025, and it matters more than the bare number suggests. Thirsk is a sharp, flat track in North Yorkshire that can catch horses out if they are not switched on — winning there as a three-year-old takes a bit of racecraft, not just raw ability. Since then, the form figures read 4-21-7-2, which tells a story of inconsistency: a decent second in there, but also some performances that drifted well back in the field. The most recent run came just yesterday, so this is a horse very much in the thick of its season.

Alaminos is trained by Kevin Ryan at his yard in Hambleton, North Yorkshire, and the stable is having a productive campaign — 45 winners on the board this season alone. Ryan is a trainer who knows how to place horses carefully and get the best out of them at the right moment, so the fact that he keeps running Alaminos suggests he sees something worth persevering with. For a horse still only three, there is every reason to think the best is not yet on the scorecard.
