The recent form reads 3rd and 4th from those two outings, which tells a consistent story: present at the finish, gaining experience, but not yet finding that extra gear when it matters most. With only two races under its belt, it is far too early to draw firm conclusions — some horses take several runs to fully figure out what is being asked of them.
What works in Al Fujairah's favour is the yard behind it. Iain Jardine, based in Carrutherstown in Dumfries and Galloway, has sent out 57 winners already this season — that is a trainer in form, with horses firing. When a stable is running that hot, even the horses yet to win carry a sense of possibility. Jardine knows how to place a horse to give it its best chance, and with a young, unexposed three-year-old, the right opportunity could still be just around the corner.
Having raced just one day ago, Al Fujairah is clearly in an active campaign right now. The next run will be worth watching.
