Akako
Akako is a six-year-old who has yet to win in five career races, with a recent run of results reading 15th, 6th, 5th, 7th and 19th. The horse raced just yesterday and has shown nothing in the way of a breakthrough finish — no top-3 finishes across those last five outings, and no wins across the whole of its racing life. It is trained by
John Patrick Ryan at Templemore in County Tipperary, a yard that has managed 21 winners this season, suggesting the trainer knows how to get horses to the line.

Our model's view, based on this horse's career and recent runs
For a six-year-old with this record, Akako remains at the lower end of the racing ladder, but the fact that it continues to race suggests the yard believes there is still a chance to find something. The most recent outing, yesterday, produced a 15th-place finish — not encouraging, but not uncommon for a horse that has never quite got its act together on the track. Whether Akako will turn a corner remains to be seen, but at this stage, it is a horse in search of its first victory.
