The horse loves fast, dry ground, winning 5 of his 14 races (36%) when conditions suit him. This preference is not academic — it shapes how he is placed. His most recent win came this week at Sedgefield on normal conditions, and before that he won a Class 2 race at Beverley in September 2023, again on quick turf. Conversely, he has never won in a top-class race: 0 wins from 8 attempts at Class 1 level tells you exactly what he is, and the yard seems happy with that assessment. Trainer Jennie Candlish, based at Basford in Staffordshire, knows Aimeric is not a star in the making — she has called him "what he is" — but she has positioned him perfectly as a summer racer who thrives when the ground dries out and the racing shifts away from the premium tracks.

Jack Mitchell has been his most effective partner, winning 3 of 6 races together (50%), and after his Lingfield victory in May 2024, jockey James Doyle noted that Aimeric "just needs proper summer ground" and prefers not to hit the front too early. The recent form line — 1-2-4-4-15-4 over his last six runs — shows he is still competitive. Candlish's yard has sent out 64 winners this season, and Aimeric remains an active member of it, last out just a day ago. He may never climb higher, but on the right surface at the right track, he remains a horse worth watching.
