Affettuoso

The shape of the recent runs tells an interesting story. In the last four races, Affettuoso finished fifth, then fifth again, then second, then won. That's a horse finding its feet, climbing the ladder, and finally getting the job done. Roger Varian's Newmarket yard, which has already sent out 87 winners this season, clearly thinks there is something here worth developing. With the win this fresh and the horse actively racing, Affettuoso is one to watch as it steps up in grade—and there's no reason to think the improvement stops now.
