The last win came at Wexford in August 2022, nearly 47 months ago now, and the six races since have brought finishes of 6th, 7th, 13th, a non-completion, 10th, and 4th. That fourth place is the only flicker of encouragement in a sequence that has otherwise been frustrating. The yard has sent out just two winners this season, so this is not a large operation throwing horses at races and hoping something lands — every run matters.

Where Act of God does look most at home is over longer distances, between a mile and six furlongs and two miles. In that range the horse has won 1 from 3 races, or 33% — one in every three attempts — which is a genuinely decent conversion rate and a meaningful contrast to the wider career record. For context, winning a third of your races at any distance is the kind of number that would excite most trainers. It suggests that if the yard — sorry, if the yard can get Act of God into the right race at the right trip, there is still something there worth chasing. At 11, that window is not wide, but it has not closed yet.
