The form figures tell an honest story: 5-8-14-3-9-6. That third-place finish stands out as the clear highlight — a podium finish that shows there is some ability there — but the rest of the runs have been mid-pack or worse, including a 14th that suggests at least one bad day at the office. Zero wins from six races is a tough record, but plenty of horses take time to find their feet, and a place on the board is at least proof that Accommodation has got close to the action on occasion.

The trainer is Stuart Williams, one of the more productive yards operating out of Newmarket, the headquarters of British flat racing. Sixty-seven winners already this season is a serious tally — that is a busy, successful operation — so Accommodation is not short of expertise in its corner. When a yard is firing out winners at that rate, they tend to know which horses are worth persevering with. The fact that Accommodation keeps getting runs suggests the team still believes there is a race to be won somewhere.
