Both of those wins have come at Plumpton, the tight, turning track in East Sussex not far from where the horse is trained. Winning 2 from 11 races at a single venue is no coincidence — that works out to roughly 1 in every 5 or 6 times A Tickatickatiming races there, which is a noticeably better record than anywhere else. Some horses simply suit a particular track, its shape, its undulations, the way the ground tends to ride. Plumpton seems to bring out the best in this one.

The horse is trained by Sheena West, based at Lewes in West Sussex, just a short drive from Plumpton itself. The yard has sent out eight winners this season, so it is a functioning, active operation rather than a small hobby stable. Marc Goldstein has been the regular partner in the saddle, riding A Tickatickatiming in 13 of its 26 races — the pair share a win rate of around 1 in 13 together, which mirrors the horse's overall record.

The last win came at Plumpton in November 2023, now 33 months ago. Since then, the horse has gone six races without winning, though the recent form figures of 3-4-4-5-4 show it is still finishing in the frame and competing respectably at Class 5 level — the bread-and-butter tier of British racing, where most horses spend the bulk of their careers. Raced just one day ago, A Tickatickatiming is clearly still in active training and showing no signs of being retired to a quieter life.

At this stage of its career, a third win — if it comes — will almost certainly come at Plumpton. That is where the evidence points, and that is where anyone paying attention would be watching.
