A Boy The Kid

A Boy The Kid has been off the track for over a year after two unsuccessful starts as a younger horse. The five-year-old, trained by C Byrnes at Ballingarry in County Limerick, finished seventh and fifth in those races but has now been away long enough that a return would essentially be a fresh chapter. With 413 days since last racing, the horse will need time to readjust to competition, but Byrnes's yard — which has sent out 26 winners this season — clearly feels there is something worth bringing back to the track. Whether A Boy The Kid can turn things around after such a long absence remains to be seen, but at five years old there is still time to find a race where it clicks.
