That breeding does offer something to go on. The sire A'Ali was a rapid, precocious sprinter who won at the highest level as a two-year-old, and horses by him tend to show early speed rather than needing time to develop. The dam is by Street Cry, a stallion associated with toughness and a touch of class. It is a combination that hints at a horse who could be sharp enough to be competitive from the off, though breeding is never a guarantee — plenty of well-bred juveniles take time to put it all together.
The trainer is Sean Davis, operating out of Maynooth in Co Kildare. It is a small yard rather than a powerhouse operation, having sent out two winners so far this season, which makes every runner something of an occasion. When a trainer of that size saddles a horse, you can be reasonably sure they believe it has a genuine chance — there is no luxury of running horses just for the experience.
