The sire, Sergei Prokofiev, was a rapid, sharp sprinter in his own right, and his early runners have shown a tendency to be quick and precocious. The dam's side brings Royal Applause into the picture — a stallion associated with speed and consistency across generations. Put those two together and you have a horse bred to be fast, probably over shorter distances, and possibly ready to show something useful early in life.
Beyond that, the first race will tell you more than any amount of reading. Watch for how the horse settles, how it handles the noise and the crowd, and whether it finds its stride when it matters. Some two-year-olds take several races to figure it all out. Others arrive looking like they've been there before. Until the gates open, nobody knows which kind this one is.
